Position Overview

We are seeking a Lead Editor with a Master’s or PhD-level qualification to oversee the editorial process and uphold the highest standards of accuracy, clarity, and consistency. This role is ideal for a meticulous editorial professional who is passionate about language, committed to excellence, and skilled in managing a team of editors and contributors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the editorial team to ensure timely and high-quality content delivery.
  • Oversee the editorial process for manuscripts, including academic, research, and general publications.
  • Ensure all content meets house style, grammatical accuracy, and factual correctness.
  • Provide detailed editorial feedback and developmental guidance to authors and editors.
  • Collaborate with design, marketing, and production teams to align content with publishing goals.
  • Maintain and improve editorial standards, workflows, and documentation.
  • Conduct final review and approval of materials before publication.
  • Mentor junior editors and support professional development within the team.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or PhD in English, Publishing, Communications, or a relevant field.
  • 5+ years of editorial experience, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Exceptional command of English grammar, syntax, and style.
  • Proven experience with academic or scholarly publishing is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Keen attention to detail with a passion for precision and quality.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with digital publishing platforms and editing software (e.g., Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word with track changes, LaTeX, etc.).

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience mentoring or managing editorial teams.
  • Multilingual skills or experience working with international authors.
  • Familiarity with citation styles (APA, MLA, Chicago, etc.).
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable working with digital tools and collaborative platforms.
