Role Overview
As a Quantity Surveyor, you’ll manage the financial and contractual elements of our construction projects. You’ll work with project teams to estimate costs, prepare tender documents, monitor expenses, and ensure financial efficiency without compromising quality.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Planning & Documentation
- Prepare preliminary cost estimates and budgets
- Develop and review BOQs and tender documentation
- Analyze tenders and provide risk/value assessments
- Conduct feasibility studies and prepare cost plans
Contract & Financial Management
- Administer contracts and monitor financial progress
- Certify interim valuations and contractor payments
- Track project costs and report on budget performance
- Advise on contract claims and procurement strategies
Site Coordination & Oversight
- Oversee subcontractors’ performance and cost compliance
- Conduct site visits to verify actual work done
- Assist in value engineering and cost control strategies
Reporting
- Submit detailed progress reports and cost analyses
- Report directly to the Head of Department
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or related field
- Minimum 3 years post-graduation experience
- Proficient in MS Excel and cost estimating tools (e.g., CostX, WinQS)
- Solid understanding of Nigerian construction rates and building regulations
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- NIQS, RICS, or related certification is an advantage
- Resides within commuting distance of Victoria Island, Lagos
