As a Company Driver, you will be responsible for driving company vehicles, maintaining them in good condition, and adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations. Your role involves ensuring the timely and secure transportation of goods, equipment, or passengers while representing the organization professionally.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate company vehicles, including cars, vans, trucks, or buses, to transport goods, materials, or personnel to various locations.
  • Safely load, unload, and secure cargo or passengers, following proper handling and safety procedures.
  • Plan routes and schedules to optimize efficiency and minimize travel time, considering traffic conditions and delivery requirements.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and brakes, and report any issues or defects for repair.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of company vehicles, both inside and outside, to present a professional image.
  • Follow traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while driving, including speed limits, seat belt usage, and cell phone usage.
  • Monitor vehicle performance and fuel consumption, and report mileage, expenses, and other relevant data accurately.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and other team members to coordinate transportation activities and address issues or delays.
  • Provide assistance to passengers, customers, or clients as needed, ensuring their comfort and safety during transportation.
  • Handle delivery documents, invoices, or other paperwork accurately and promptly, maintaining proper records of deliveries and pickups.
  • Respond to emergency situations, such as accidents or breakdowns, following established procedures and protocols.
  • Uphold professional conduct and appearance at all times, representing the company positively to clients, customers, and the public.
  • Stay updated on traffic regulations, road closures, and detours to plan alternative routes and avoid delays.
  • Attend training sessions and meetings as required to enhance driving skills, safety awareness, and job performance.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Valid driver\’s license for the type of vehicle(s) operated; commercial driver\’s license (CDL) may be required for certain vehicles or industries.
  • Clean driving record with no major traffic violations or accidents in the past.
  • Proven experience as a driver, preferably in a commercial or corporate environment.
  • Knowledge of local roads, routes, and traffic patterns.
  • Familiarity with vehicle maintenance and safety procedures.
  • Good physical health and stamina to withstand long hours of driving and heavy lifting.
  • Excellent driving skills, including defensive driving techniques and safe vehicle operation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and adherence to rules and regulations.
