Job Overview:
We are seeking a results-driven Sales Manager to oversee and execute our nationwide sales strategy in the mattress industry. This role is responsible for leading a dynamic sales team, driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and strengthening customer and distributor relationships across both B2B and B2C channels. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in mattress, furniture, or related home goods sectors, with a strong track record in leading national sales operations and achieving business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sales Leadership
- Develop and implement a comprehensive national sales strategy aligned with company objectives.
- Set and achieve aggressive sales targets across retail, wholesale, and corporate channels.
- Monitor market trends, customer insights, and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions.
Team Management & Performance Optimization
- Lead, manage, and support a geographically distributed sales team, including regional sales managers and field reps.
- Define performance metrics and sales KPIs, providing regular coaching, training, and performance evaluations.
- Promote a culture of accountability, motivation, and continuous improvement.
Retail & Channel Development
- Aggressively acquire a relationships with key retail partners, including mattress and furniture dealers, department stores, and large-format retailers.
- Oversee pricing structures, promotional plans, and retail execution to ensure strong in-store and online performance.
- Ensure effective merchandising and product visibility across all points of sale.
Business Expansion & Client Acquisition
- Identify and secure new B2B clients, including hospitality businesses (hotels, resorts) and institutional buyers.
- Explore growth opportunities in emerging channels such as direct-to-consumer (D2C) and online marketplaces.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to align sales strategies with brand campaigns and lead generation efforts.
Forecasting, Budgeting & Reporting
- Develop accurate sales forecasts and manage national sales budgets.
- Provide regular updates and performance reports to executive leadership.
- Utilize CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) for sales tracking, pipeline management, and customer insights.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- MBA or advanced degree is an added advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years in a sales leadership role, preferably within the mattress, furniture, or home goods industry.
- Demonstrated success in managing national retail and distributor networks.
- Strong experience in both B2B and B2C sales environments.
Skills & Competencies:
- Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Proficiency with CRM tools and sales performance software.
- Willingness to travel nationwide as required.
