Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiology Technician (RadTech) to join our dynamic team at one of our centers in Gbagada. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assisting the radiographer during medical imaging procedures and ensuring the highest level of patient care.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring patient safety and adherence to radiologic standards of care during imaging procedures.
- Calibrating equipment to ensure clear and accurate images are captured as directed by physicians.
- Properly sterilizing and storing equipment, conducting maintenance checks, and promptly reporting any equipment malfunctions.
- Completing patients\’ intake process, documenting their medical histories, and educating them about the imaging procedure following standard protocols.
- Reviewing patients\’ charts and doctors\’ notes before examinations, maintaining patient records with utmost confidentiality.
- Logging and organizing image results, developing film, and collaborating with radiologists to assess the quality and necessity of additional images.
- Coordinating with the radiology department to schedule and complete radiographic procedures.
- Assisting the radiographer with patient positioning and providing attentive care during medical imaging procedures.
- Transmitting images via the digitizer for printing on film, ensuring the accurate capture of essential diagnostic information.
- Delivering clear and comprehensive information to patients regarding special imaging procedures, alleviating their concerns and ensuring cooperation.
- Efficiently using RIS (Radiology Information System) and EMR (Electronic Medical Records) software for patient registration and documentation, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Radiology Technology.
- Experience: 2 -4 years of relevant experience.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and patient service skills to provide compassionate and informative care to our patients.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure accurate and timely interpretation of radiographic results.
- Ability to operate and understand radiographic technology and equipment, ensuring precise imaging procedures.
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, enabling you to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Familiarity with RIS (Radiology Information System) and EMR (Electronic Medical Records) software for streamlined patient registration and documentation.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of radiology technology, adhering to best practices and safety protocols.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals and deliver seamless patient care.
- Compassionate and sensitive towards patients during procedures, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure, maintaining high-quality standards in all aspects of the role.
- Physical capability to assist with lifting or moving patients during procedures, ensuring proper positioning for accurate imaging
