This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to improving the health and well-being of children in your community.

Role:

As a CDD, you will be responsible for administering Azithromycin to eligible children between 1 and 59 months within assigned communities during the MDA exercise. This role is crucial in preventing and treating common childhood illnesses, ultimately reducing mortality rates and improving overall health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

•  Administer Azithromycin to the target population in assigned communities, following all protocols and guidelines to ensure accurate dosage and administration.

•  Maintain accurate and complete records of all distributions, including the number of children treated, the dates of administration, and any relevant observations.

•  Educate community members on the purpose of the MDA campaign, the benefits of Azithromycin, and the safe use of the medication, addressing any concerns or misconceptions they may have.

•  Closely observe and promptly report any side effects or adverse drug reactions observed during the administration process to the appropriate authorities.

•  Refer individuals with complications, contraindications, or exclusions from the MDA to qualified health personnel for further evaluation and care.

Minimum Qualifications:

•  Minimum of Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or West African Examination Council (WAEC) certificate.

•  Must be a resident of the specific ward or community to which you are assigned, demonstrating a deep understanding of the local context and community dynamics.

•  Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Hausa, enabling clear and respectful communication with community members and healthcare professionals.
