Consultant- Production of Simplified and Local Language Versions of the National Disability Act (2018) Location: Benue State (with possible remote components) Languages: Tiv, Idoma, Pidgin English Duration: 6 Weeks Reports to: NWTF/D-RAPID PROGRAM TEAM Background: The Nigerian Women Trust Fund (NWTF), with support from EU and in partnership with CBM International under the D-RAPID Project (Disability Rights Advocacy for Inclusive Development), is seeking to engage a qualified consultant to support the production of simplified and translated versions of the Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities (Prohibition) Act, 2018 for effective awareness-raising at the state and community levels in Benue State. This initiative aims to increase public understanding of the law by ensuring that key provisions are accessible to people with disabilities, government ministries, schools, and communities through plain, non-legal English and relevant local languages. Objective of the Consultancy: To simplify the National Disability Act (2018) into plain, easy-to-understand English, and translate the simplified version into three selected languages (Tiv, Idoma, and Pidgin English). These simplified versions will support awareness-raising, advocacy, and education efforts across Benue State. Scope of Work: The consultant will be responsible for: Expected Deliverables: Consultant Qualifications: Duration and Timeline: The consultancy is expected to be completed within 6 weeks, including stakeholder validation sessions and submission of final deliverables.
