Technical Assistant

Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support (type correspondences, reports and other documents) to the GM.
- Controlling and managing stock, engineering office files, coordination of office inventory and ordering of office supplies.
- Supervise equipment usage, equipment maintenance; maintain usage records accordingly.
- Manage engineering crew change for offshore crew.
- Input to the preparation of vessel specification, periodic inspection of assets, ensuring marine databases are in date.
- Assist the Port Engineer with compilation of specifications, quotation for dry docking and dry-docking reports as provided by the Port Engineer.
- Follow up on repairs/services as arranged by the General Manager or Port Engineer.
- Produce work packs for scheduled maintenance and modifications, project plans, vessel maintenance programs, defining materials and tool required for routine maintenance.
- Management, planning and coordination of periodic services, dry docking and vessel upgrades and where possible, implement planned maintenance systems via Computerized Maintenance Management System.
- Input to the preparation of vessel specification, periodic inspection of assets, ensuring marine databases are in date.
- Keeping record of ship certificates and following up on class survey certificates.
Requirements
Educational Qualifications:
- HND / B.SC. in Marine / Mechanical Engineering
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel (VBA is an added advantage) and Microsoft power BI
- Programming knowledge is an added advantage (e.g. Python, JAVA, SQL).
- Experience in the use of CAD or SolidWorks.
- Experience in an engineering servicing firm is an advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 – 5 years experience in a technical administration-related field.
