Role Overview

As an SDR, you’ll prospect and qualify leads that fit our Ideal Customer Profile (ICP): digitally-native businesses in emerging/developed markets offering training, coaching, or immigration services. You’ll leverage your industry expertise to engage decision-makers, uncover their payment challenges, and position Mainstack as their growth partner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Targeted Prospecting: Identify and engage ICP leads (e.g., bootcamp founders, career coaches, immigration consultants) via LinkedIn, Apollo, and niche communities (Facebook groups, webinar attendees).
  • Archetype-Specific Outreach: Customize messaging based on the customer archetype:
    • Global Educators: Highlight cohort billing, branded storefronts, and multi-currency support.
    • Global Consultants: Focus on retainer contracts, milestone billing, and international payments.
    • Immigration Experts: Emphasize stage-based invoicing, document workflows, and compliance.
  • Qualification: Run discovery calls to map pain points (e.g., “How do you currently collect payments from clients in the UK/Nigeria/Canada?”).
  • CRM Management: Log activities in CRM e.g. Clickup, Zendesk, etc and collaborate with closers to pipeline deals.

1. The EdTech-Oriented SDR

  • Experience selling to online educators, bootcamps, or LMS platforms (e.g., Thinkific, Teachable).
  • Understands cohort-based models and monetization via WhatsApp groups, Zoom classes, etc.
  • Finds leads by stalking hashtags like #DataScienceBootcamp or #ScrumMasterTraining.

2. The Professional Services SDR

  • Has sold to coaches, career advisors, or B2B consultants.
  • Knows the headaches of high-ticket, long-cycle sales (e.g., retainers, multi-currency invoices).
  • Can talk shop about client milestones and international payment delays.

3. The Immigration Specialist SDR

  • Familiar with visa agencies, study-abroad advisors, or relocation consultants.
  • Knows common pain points (e.g., document processing fees, multi-stage billing).
  • Prospects in forums like Canada Visa Facebook Groups or agency directories.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in sales/prospecting (B2B/SaaS preferred).
  • Tool Stack: LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo.io, CRM, cold email tools.
  • Traits: Persuasive, curious, and resilient. You enjoy researching niches and connecting dots.
  • Bonus: Experience with cross-border payments, subscriptions, or invoicing tools.
