Job Brief:
- As an IT Manager, you will lead and supervise a team of IT professionals to manage and maintain the organization\’s technology infrastructure, systems, software, and networks. Your role involves developing IT strategies, implementing solutions, ensuring data security, software installations and training, developing and enforcing IT policies and best practices, and providing technical support to meet business needs and objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, train, and supervise IT staff, which includes hiring, performance management, and professional development.
- Develop and implement IT strategies, policies, and procedures to support business goals, improve efficiency, and enhance security.
- Oversee the design, implementation, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems, networks, and infrastructure, including networks, operating systems, hardware, software, servers, and databases.
- Monitor and optimize network performance, reliability, and security, implementing measures to prevent downtime, data loss, and cyber threats.
- Provide technical guidance and leadership to IT staff, including hiring, training, mentoring, and performance management.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as department heads, executives, and end-users, to understand IT needs, prioritize projects, and deliver solutions.
- Evaluate and recommend IT solutions, technologies, and vendors, conducting research, cost-benefit analysis, and risk assessments.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies, standards, regulations, and best practices, such as GDPR, HIPAA, and ISO standards.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans, conducting regular tests and exercises to ensure readiness.
- Manage IT budgets, expenditures, and procurement processes, negotiating contracts, licenses, and service agreements with vendors and suppliers.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in IT management, participating in training, conferences, and professional development activities.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to users, resolving IT issues, incidents, and service requests in a timely and efficient manner.
- Implement and enforce IT security measures, such as access controls, firewalls, antivirus software, and encryption, to protect against cyber threats and unauthorized access.
- Conduct regular IT audits, assessments, and reviews to identify vulnerabilities, assess risks, and ensure compliance with security standards.
- Communicate IT initiatives, projects, and updates to stakeholders, preparing reports, presentations, and documentation as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor\’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field; master\’s degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in IT management or a similar role, with a strong understanding of IT infrastructure, systems, and operations.
- Expertise in network administration, systems integration, and cloud computing technologies, such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team of IT professionals to achieve goals and objectives.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP, ITIL) is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of IT governance frameworks, such as COBIT or ITIL, and regulatory compliance requirements, such as GDPR and HIPAA.
- Experience with IT security practices and protocols, including access controls, encryption, vulnerability management, and incident response.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, staying updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices.
