Finance Associate

- Strivo Labs is seeking a meticulous and proactive Finance Associate to support our finance and loan operations.
- This role will be responsible for managing daily accounting tasks, loan reconciliations, payroll processes, expense reporting, and financial analysis.
- The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of both internal financial workflows and lending processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting operations and ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
- Oversee loan disbursements, monitor repayments, update loan schedules, and calculate interest accurately.
- Perform bank, loan, and control account reconciliations, resolving any identified discrepancies promptly.
- Support payroll processing, ensuring accurate statutory deductions and timely remittances (PAYE, pension, etc.).
- Process vendor payments, staff reimbursements, and maintain proper documentation for all expenses.
- Prepare journal entries, month-end and year-end closing schedules, and periodic financial statements.
- Generate financial, cash flow, and loan performance reports to support management decisions.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring of company costs.
- Ensure adherence to internal control systems, audit standards, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with credit, collections, operations, and audit teams to maintain financial accuracy and integrity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 2 – 3 years of experience in finance or accounting; experience within microfinance, lending, or financial services environments is strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of loan accounting, payroll processes, and statutory remittances.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting or loan management software.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Professional qualification or part qualification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA, ACA) is an added advantage
