Mandatory Summer Internship

The Fellowship also requires a mandatory in-person summer internship at an NVIDIA research office in the U.S., Canada, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland, Israel, or Taiwan.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Completed First Year of PhD: You must have already finished your first year of PhD-level studies when you apply.
  • Relevant Major: Your major should be in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, System Architecture, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Active Thesis Research: You need to be actively conducting research for your PhD thesis.
  • Full-Time Enrollment (2026-2027): You must be enrolled as a full-time PhD student for the entire 2026-2027 academic year (9 months) of the award. This means you shouldn’t be graduating before May or June 2027.
  • Mandatory Summer Internship: You must be available to complete a compulsory in-person summer internship before your fellowship year begins.
  • No Immediate Family at NVIDIA: You cannot have an immediate family member currently working at NVIDIA.
  • University Administered Award: The fellowship funds will be disbursed to your university, not directly to you.
