The next One Young World Summit is taking place in Cape Town, South Africa, in 2026. What a beautiful city and a lovely place, with so many things to do! I especially loved the amazing weather and the spectacular sights, including the lush green Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden and its Centenary Tree Canopy Walkway, Table Mountain (The Peak), Chapman’s Peak Drive, and Robben Island. My first visit to Cape Town was in 2024, when I was there to attend the World Policy Conference. (Read about me). The applications are now open for the NewNow One Young World Summit 2026 in South Africa. It aims to support young leaders who are working to handle global challenges through innovative and systemic approaches. The Summit will take place from 3-6 November 2026, where over 2,000 young leaders from more than 190 countries will gather. More details are below.

Eligibility Criteria for the NewNOW One Young World Scholarship
- Be between the ages of 18 and 30.
- Be a citizen of a country in the Global South. (Check Global South Countries on Google).
- Have a history of leading successful projects that made a real difference.
- Understand important local and global problems, especially those that need a complex, interconnected approach to solve.
- Have experience using a systems-thinking approach to find creative, long-lasting solutions to difficult problems.
- Be able to show how you’ve used systems thinking to make a positive impact.
- Care about creating a more just and equitable world.
- Be willing to work with other young leaders and share your experiences with others.
