The Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology is now accepting online applications for the Spring 2026 intake. The GIST University South Korea Scholarship is open to Master’s, Master’s Leading to Ph.D., and Doctoral Degree programs. Applicants from all around the world can apply. Many universities in South Korea, including KAIST and UST, do charge an application fee; GIST is known for not requiring one. All international students are granted the GIST Scholarship without any separate application. The Scholarship includes tuition Fees, meals, accommodation, a monthly stipend, health insurance, and a Flight ticket. All courses at GIST University are conducted in English. You can apply without the English language test. If you have been selected, you must submit your test score later.
If you have completed your bachelor’s degree in an English-speaking country (Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the UK, or the USA ), you are eligible to apply to GIST without an English Proficiency Test result.
Other than that, all applicants must submit an official English proficiency test score, such as TOEFL (IBT, PBT), IELTS, TOEIC, and TEPS.
The GIST University strongly recommends that you obtain the English test score because the Korean Immigration Service may require an English or Korean test score for a VISA application
