FG Rolls Out Cash Transfer to Mothers to Reduce Out-of-School Children
The Federal Government has unveiled the Basic Education Transformation Agenda (BETA), a comprehensive reform package aimed at boosting school enrollment and improving learning outcomes nationwide.
Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, announced that BETA introduces Conditional Cash Transfers to mothers to encourage consistent school attendance, as well as a Back2School Drive to cover enrollment costs.
The program targets chronic challenges in the education sector, including out-of-school children, weak technical training, poor infrastructure, outdated curricula, and low teacher capacity.

The government has also increased annual scholarship grants and introduced measures to protect vulnerable groups, including a national anti-bullying policy and expanded nutrition and school feeding programs.
