Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate must be experienced in hospitality accounting and have strong understanding of Nigeria tax law. Accountant  will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, performing reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, integrity, and a solid understanding of accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
  • Reconcile daily income from rooms,food/beverages and events
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of general ledger entries.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Manage tax compliance (VAT,PAYE, WHT,CIT etc)
  • Assist in the preparation of tax returns and financial audits.
  • Monitor and report on financial performance.
  • Work with auditors and tax officials.
  • Handle payroll and statutory deductions.
  • Monitor hotel budget and cash flow.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation.
  • Ensure all accounting process follow internal and external standards.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Accounting,finance or related field.
  • Professional certification (ICAN,ACA,ACCA,etc) is a plus.
  • 3-12 years experience,preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
  • Proficient in accounting tools (eg:Quickbooks,Opera pms,Hotelman).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
