Job Title: Civil / Structural Engineer

Job Summary
- The Civil/Structural Engineer will be responsible for designing, analyzing and supervising the construction of structural components of buildings and infrastructure.
- The role involves ensuring structural integrity, safety, stability and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- The ideal candidate must possess strong technical ability, problem-solving skills and knowledge of modern design software.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and analyze structural elements including beams, slabs, columns, foundations, retaining walls, etc.
- Prepare structural drawings, calculations, specifications and technical reports.
- Perform load, stress, and stability assessments using relevant engineering codes.
- Collaborate with architects, mechanical/electrical engineers and project teams to achieve functional and aesthetic design objectives.
- Review and approve construction materials to ensure compliance with design standards.
- Conduct site inspections and monitor construction activities to ensure designs are implemented accurately.
- Identify structural issues, recommend modifications and provide timely solutions.
- Prepare BOQs, cost estimates and support procurement processes where necessary.
- Ensure compliance with local building regulations, safety standards and project timelines.
- Participate in project planning, quality control, risk assessment and progress reporting.
- Liaise with clients, contractors and stakeholders professionally and efficiently.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering or related field (Master’s an added advantage).
- 3–7 years experience in structural design or construction engineering.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, or similar structural design software.
- Strong understanding of engineering codes and standards (e.g. Eurocode, ACI, BS Standards).
- Knowledge of construction practices, project management and site supervision.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Professional certification or COREN registration is an added advantage.
