We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Executive Director to join our leadership team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the organization’s strategic direction while providing effective oversight of daily operations. This position blends high-level strategic planning with hands-on management to drive sustainable growth, operational excellence, and compliance with all regulatory standards

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with the MD/CEO and Board to translate the company’s strategic goals into practical business plans.
  • Drive implementation of approved strategies and monitor progress against performance targets.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, efficiency, and accountability across all departments.
  • Provide strategic insight to management and the Board on emerging risks, market opportunities, and policy issues.
  • Represent the organization at key stakeholder meetings and industry events when delegated. 

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND GROWTH

  • Lead design and execution of business expansion initiatives to grow the company’s market share.
  • Support product innovation in line with NHIA guidelines and evolving customer needs.
  • Build strong relationships with corporate clients, partners, and healthcare providers to deepen trust and engagement.
  • Oversee marketing and communication strategies to enhance the company’s visibility and reputation. 

OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT

  • Ensure smooth, coordinated operation of all functional departments to deliver excellent customer experiences.
  • Supervise critical business functions such as Claims, Provider Relations, Enrolment, and Administration.
  • Set clear performance standards and evaluate departmental outcomes against agreed KPIs.
  • Promote process improvements and technology use to increase operational efficiency.
  • Support staff development and succession planning for key roles.

COMPLIANCE AND GOVERNANCE

  • Ensure the company operates fully in line with NHIA regulations and other statutory requirements.
  • Oversee preparation and timely submission of required reports to regulators and the Board.
  • Work with the MD/CEO to ensure policies, procedures, and decisions reflect good corporate governance.
  • Maintain high ethical standards across management and business operations. 

FINANCIAL STEWARDSHIP AND RISK MANAGEMENT

  • Support budget preparation, financial planning, and monitoring of operational expenses.
  • Ensure prudent management of resources and alignment of expenditures with approved budgets.
  • Identify and manage potential business and operational risks, escalating major concerns as necessary.
  • Promote a results-driven culture based on financial discipline and accountability.

HUMAN CAPITAL LEADERSHIP

  • Lead, coach, and motivate departmental heads to achieve individual and collective goals.
  • Encourage teamwork, professional growth, and effective communication across teams.
  • Collaborate with HR to strengthen staff performance management and talent development programs.
  • Foster an inclusive, productive, and positive work environment.

CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE AND PROVIDER RELATIONS

  • Ensure enrollees receive efficient, responsive, and satisfactory service at all touchpoints.
  • Oversee healthcare provider relationships to guarantee service quality and prompt claims processing.
  • Encourage data-driven monitoring of service performance and client feedback.
  • Proactively address customer complaints and service gaps to build trust and retention.

REPORTING AND ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Provide the MD/CEO with regular reports on departmental activities, performance, and emerging issues.
  • Ensure all reporting (financial, operational, regulatory) is accurate, timely, and actionable.
  • Support the MD/CEO in preparing reports and presentations for the Board.

RISK MITIGATION, INNOVATION, AND STAKEHOLDER LEADERSHIP

  • Lead enterprise risk management and crisis response to safeguard company assets and reputation.
  • Drive innovation and adopt technology solutions to enhance operational effectiveness and customer experience.
  • Engage actively with NHIA, regulators, partners, and communities to advance company compliance and interests.
  • Promote and implement environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives aligned with corporate values.

  • Ensure transparent reporting and management of conflicts of interest.
