About the Role
- Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Financial Control (FinCon) to lead its finance team.
- The ideal candidate will oversee financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and strategic planning to ensure the bank’s long-term financial health and performance
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all financial operations, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Ensure full compliance with CBN, NDIC, and FRCN financial reporting standards.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Develop and implement effective internal controls, accounting policies, and risk management frameworks.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic decision-making.
- Supervise and mentor the finance team to ensure high performance and accountability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or CPA) is mandatory.
- Minimum of 6–10 years’ experience in financial control, audit, or finance management within a Microfinance Bank or Financial Institution.
- Strong understanding of CBN regulations, MFB reporting standards, and financial risk management.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems.
