CERN OPENLAB Summer Program 2026 in Switzerland (Fully Funded)

The applications are now open for the CERN OPENLAB Summer Program 2026. The CERN OPENLAB Summer Program offers a 2-month fully funded internship for students of all nationalities. There are no citizenship restrictions. Students enrolled in Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs or those who will graduate by May 2026 are eligible to apply. The OPENLAB Summer Student Program is a 9-week program that will take place in June 2026. There is no application fee, and IELTS is not required. The objective of the CERN OPENLAB Summer Program

The CERN Openlab Summer Student Program offers a 9-week opportunity for computer science/Software, and IT students to work on advanced IT projects. Students will collaborate with experts, attend lectures, visit CERN facilities, and present their work at the end of the program. It is a Kind of Internship Program.

Financial Benefits

The program covers:

• Daily stipend: 93 CHF/day for accommodation and meals.
• Travel allowance: Round-trip airfare, Reimbursement for travel to Geneva.
• Health insurance: Comprehensive coverage.
• Accommodation assistance: Help finding housing on or near the CERN site.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the CERN OPENLAB Summer Student Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Candidates of all nationalities are welcome to apply for this program.
• You must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program with a strong computing profile.
• An applicant must have completed at least three years of full-time university-level studies by Summer 2026.
• Students graduating in the Summer of 2026 (May) are also eligible to apply.
• You must remain enrolled as a student during your CERN internship.
• Applicants should not have previously worked at CERN.
