Job Summary
- The Distribution Officer is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the efficient movement of finished goods from the manufacturing facility to various distribution points.
- This role ensures timely delivery, inventory accuracy, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with production, warehouse, and sales teams to align distribution schedules with demand.
- Coordinate daily distribution operations including order dispatch, transportation, and delivery tracking.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure accurate documentation of stock movement.
- Select and manage third-party logistics (3PL) providers and transport vendors.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations during loading, unloading, and transit.
- Resolve delivery issues, delays, or discrepancies with internal teams and external partners.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, delivery confirmations, and transportation costs.
- Analyze distribution data to identify areas for cost reduction and service improvement.
- Support audits and reporting requirements related to logistics and inventory.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2 – 4 years of experience in logistics or distribution, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of inventory management systems and ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) .
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
