Distribution Officer

Job Summary

  • The Distribution Officer is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the efficient movement of finished goods from the manufacturing facility to various distribution points.
  • This role ensures timely delivery, inventory accuracy, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with production, warehouse, and sales teams to align distribution schedules with demand.
  • Coordinate daily distribution operations including order dispatch, transportation, and delivery tracking.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure accurate documentation of stock movement.
  • Select and manage third-party logistics (3PL) providers and transport vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations during loading, unloading, and transit.
  • Resolve delivery issues, delays, or discrepancies with internal teams and external partners.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, delivery confirmations, and transportation costs.
  • Analyze distribution data to identify areas for cost reduction and service improvement.
  • Support audits and reporting requirements related to logistics and inventory.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2 – 4 years of experience in logistics or distribution, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management systems and ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) .
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
