Job Description
- Our client is seeking an experienced Port Engineer to manage and optimize the operation of their vessel fleet at Port Harcourt.
- The ideal candidate will independently diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel-powered vessels and equipment, ensuring optimal availability and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee maintenance and repair of diesel engines, generators, hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Monitor and improve planned maintenance programs.
- Manage repair budgets and control costs.
- Lead and mentor technical teams.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies and conduct risk assessments.
Qualifications
- HND / Bachelor’s Degree in Marine or Mechanical Engineering.
- Certificate of competency Class 1 NCV or Class 2 unlimited.
- 3 – 5 years of relevant workshop experience on the role.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic knowledge.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
