About Tosin

My day begins like a ritual: morning briefs with editors, triaging tips and leads; then deep dives into datasets public procurement records, environmental reports, and leaked spreadsheets where I coax stories from numbers. I mentor a small team of reporters, pair young journalists with seasoned sources, and map investigative roadmaps that run weeks to months. Afternoons find me in legal check-ins, refining queries with counsel, or in community forums listening to the people whose stories we’re trying to honor. I split time building simple data tools with engineers (my technical instincts never left), writing grant proposals to sustain long investigations, and delivering workshops at universities to cultivate ethical, evidence-based reporting.

That graduate degree sharpened the blade I carry. It taught rigorous source verification, research design, and the grammar of persuasive narrative; it gave me frameworks for ethical judgment when the facts are messy. More than credential, the program welded confidence to craft: the patience to follow a lead for months, the humility to correct when wrong, and the stubborn curiosity to ask the inconvenient question. Professionally, it opened doors networks, fellowships, and editorial trust and personally it taught restraint: how tradition and method anchor ambition. I remain skeptical of easy explanations, reverent toward the past that informs context, and quietly hopeful convinced that careful journalism, like good engineering, builds durable public things.
