We are hiring a Shift-in-Charge Electrical (Assistant Manager) for a reputable manufacturing power plant in Sagamu. This is a key leadership role requiring in-depth expertise in power plant electrical systems, team supervision, and adherence to safety and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all electrical operations during assigned shifts across the power plant.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in power distribution, HT & LT panels, and DCS automation systems.
- Monitor and ensure optimal operation of Travelling Grate Boilers and Turbines.
- Enforce adherence to standard operating procedures and safety regulations.
- Lead and mentor on-shift electrical technicians and engineers.
- Maintain detailed logs of operations, breakdowns, and preventive maintenance.
- Coordinate and execute maintenance activities during off-crop seasons.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve complex technical challenges.
- Promote a strong culture of continuous improvement and operational safety.
Qualifications & Requirements
- B.Tech / B.E / B.Sc / HND in Electrical Engineering
- Competency Certification is mandatory
- Boiler Operating Engineers (BOE) certification is a plus
- Membership in COREN, NSE, or other relevant professional bodies
- 7–9 years of experience in power plant operations (Bagasse-based plant experience is an added advantage)
- Hands-on experience with:
- Travelling Grate Boilers (87 bar+)
- Fuel & Ash Handling Systems
- DCS Automation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Proven leadership and ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
