Reports to: Program Officer, CODERHI

Objective of the Position

The Rapporteur plays a key role in ensuring accurate, inclusive, and comprehensive documentation of Community Development Plan (CDP) sessions. By capturing community inputs, synthesizing key discussions, and supporting the preparation of development plans, the Rapporteur ensures that the voices and priorities of all demographic groups are translated into actionable community development strategies aligned with CEPP guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend and document all CDP sessions at the ward and LGA levels, including preparatory and validation meetings.
  • Accurately capture key points, community inputs, decisions, and outcomes, ensuring inclusive representation—particularly for PWDs, women, elderly, and semi-/illiterate participants.
  • Synthesize raw session data into structured, comprehensive, and gender-sensitive CDP reports aligned with CEPP guidelines.
  • Collaborate with CDP facilitators and stakeholders to consolidate and harmonize ward-level data into unified development plans.
  • Support the finalization and validation of CDP documents for integration into Local Government Area (LGA) plans.
  • Translate or interpret proceedings using Bura and Hausa to support full inclusion of all participants.
  • Ensure neutrality, confidentiality, and ethical conduct in all documentation processes.
  • Assist facilitators by providing real-time technical documentation support during participatory dialogues.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Education, Public Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • At least 1–2 years of experience in report writing and documentation, preferably within participatory development or community engagement settings.
  • Strong ability to synthesize qualitative data into structured reports.
  • Fluency in English, and strong verbal and written communication skills in both Bura and Hausa.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly in working with women, youth, PWDs, and other marginalized groups.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and relevant documentation tools.
  • Experience working with NGOs, CSOs, or community-based organizations on development or governance-related projects is desirable.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality outputs.

Desirable Attributes

  • Resident of Kwaya Kusar LGA or surrounding communities (strongly preferred).
  • Understanding of participatory planning processes and local governance structures.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
  • Previous experience with NGOs, CSOs, or donor-funded projects is an added advantage.
  • Understanding of inclusive reporting and gender-sensitive documentation practices.
